1. Love Self

www.presents.nodoespiral.net/love-self

We launch this Online Festival of Love with what is perhaps the heart of the question, & the heart of the answer:

Love Self ... & Mythology

if Self-Love (ego-centrism, individualism, self-obsession) is the problem ...

is learning to (truly) Love Our-Selves maybe the answer?

*  What are the stories that run us, and can we re-design them?

If it is true that we can only love others to the extent

that we love our-selves, how do we heal the big difficulties

we notice we have with relating to others

- including partners, neighbours, Nature & the Planet ?

The Webinar on Love Self

given on 12 Feb 2013 by Stella

Webinar Summary

Know Thyself

We mention in the Webinar how ... "worse than lies are half-truths"
as they are more likely to be taken on wholesale,
and so many toxic patterns of the destructo-culture
stay well-rooted, or creep into our consciousness un-examined.

This video explains how & why some of the New Age teachings
might as well have been designed by someone who wants to keep the status-quo,
even as it preaches the importance of change ...

The people who are perceptive enough to see the mind-games that keep us passive in all this ...
unfortunately then often 'throw the baby out with the bathwater' & reject all self-improvement science,
most of which actually does have some very good experiential base.
In fact as it turns out, self-confidence & self-esteem are essential to changing things out there.
The Integral Permaculture approach is about studying very closely
ALL of the aspects that concern us as people:
internal worlds as well as external ones, individual as much as collective ones -
with the understanding that these are invented, artificial distinctions at best,
and that there are no sacred cows: it is exciting that our minds can explore everything,
and we have a duty to use the amazing consciousness
that has taken so many billions of years to evolve, on this planet,
for discovery & for improving the conditions for ALL Life to flourish
(including our own)

Byron Katie on "I am Lovable"

Byron Katie is a great explorer of the stories that run us.
She teaches what she calls 'The Work' & there is a page about her work in
the Integral Permaculture Designers Manual - re-design our interior beliefs

Note we don't support the idea that is ALL we need to do,
(a typical 'collapsing all to one quadrant': the interior individual in this case)
but that many of us may need to do this kind of self-reprogramming in order to get rid of the self-sabotage
that stops us being effective Agents of Change in the world.

Every piece of corporate media being precipitated on us daily is based on you not feeling good enough, and that you need this outside (thing) which is going to fill you up inside.

  1. Possessions instead of productions
  1. Possessions create an effect (for the corporation) at your cost
  1. Productions create an effect (for your audience) at your cost
  1. Production has many forms, but it is done by people who seek to see change in the world, they might do this by opening their own business, service, building some product, etc.

iWhich would you rather have?

Mindful choosing of friends & lovers,
not to mention teachers, is critical
to remaining conscious, remaining intuitive,
remaining in charge of the fiery light that sees & knows.

- Clarissa Pinkola Estés

About the Matrix

in the webinar we mentioned some resources on the Matrix interpretations

On Stories

"Stories, great flapping ribbons of shaped space-time, have been blowing & uncoiling around the universe since the beginning of time.  And they have evolved.
The weakest have died & the strongest have survived & they have grown fat on the retelling ...
stories, twisting & blowing through the darkness.

And their very existence overlays a faint but insistent pattern on the chaos that is history.  Stories etch grooves deep enough for people to follow in the same way that water follows a certain paths down a mountain-side.  And every time fresh actors tread the path of the story, the groove runs deeper.

This is called the theory of narrative causality & it means that a story, once started, takes a shape.   It picks up all the vibrations of all the other workings of that story that have ever been.   That is why history keeps repeating all the time.

... Stories don't care who takes part in them.  All that matters is that the story gets told, that the story repeats.    Or, if you prefer to think of it like this: stories are a parasitic life-form, warping lives in the service only of the story itself.

It takes a special kind of person to fight back, and become the bicarbonate of history."

From  "Witches Abroad", by Terry Pratchett

'It's not staying in the same place that's the problem,'
said Nanny,
'it's not letting your mind wander.'

From  "Witches Abroad", by Terry Pratchett

Over thousands of years, the creative play of story-telling has come to enslave us, and we have lost the storyteller's consciousness. Finally we are awakening, as the effort to maintain the pretense overwhelms us. We cannot maintain the story any more. The story of linearity, the story of separation, the lonely story of a discrete self marooned in a world of other. The story that we are not storytellers, not authors but mere reporters, describing what is, reacting, managing, controlling. We are awakening from that story now, the story that we are not the authors of our world and of our lives.
